Arizona Martial Artist Honored by International Awards
The Arizona School of Traditional Karate in Mesa, Arizona is the world headquarters of the Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Karate Kobudo Kai martial arts association. According to Grandmaster Hausel, Soke, the world head of this association, the martial arts school and association are somewhat unique in the type of students attracted to learn traditional karate. “We have many outstanding members of society I am very proud of including doctors, nurses, nutrition professionals, technicians, engineers, scientists, IT technicians, clergy, pilots, social scientists, laborers, university professors, teachers, musicians, students, house wives and senior citizens who become members of our martial arts family”.
Classes offered at the Arizona School of Traditional Karate are partially in Japanese and the students are taught karate, kobudo (Okinawan weapons), self-defense, jujutsu, samurai arts and martial arts history by outstanding martial arts instructors that include World Martial Arts Hall-of-Fame member Grandmaster Hausel, Dai-Shihan Neal Adam, PhD, Sensei Bill Borea, Sensei Paula Borea (of Japanese samurai lineage), Sensei Ryan Harden and Sensei Patrick Scofield.
News came in August that the grandmaster was selected for recognition for lifetime contributions to martial arts and science. Grandmaster Hausel has been teaching martial arts for more than four decades and has been a geoscientist for about the same amount of time. The grandmaster began training in martial arts in 1964.
Editor in Chief, Fred Marks of Marquis Who’sWho contacted Soke Hausel last month and congratulated Grandmaster Hausel indicating that the prestigious organization selected his profile for inclusion in Who’s Who in the World 2015 (32nd Edition). On July 25th, Nicolas Law of the IBC in Cambridge England contacted Grandmaster Hausel indicating he (Hausel) had been recommended by an international science organization and the Editorial Board and Advisory Board of the IBC reviewed the recommendation and Grandmaster Hausel’s “...extensive portfolio and concurred with the recommendation. The Board elected to commend on you the honor of The Decoration for Achievement in Science 2014”.
This was followed on August 15th, 2014 by another announcement, “... I am delighted to inform you that your name has been put forward to receive – entirely through merit – an Honorary Doctorate of Letters ...”
