Kids Karate - The Traditional Way
Most traditional Okinawan karate schools do not accept children in the dojo until they reach the age of 16. Soke Hausel, the world head of Seiyo Kai Shorin-Ryu Karate taught adult classes at four universities since 1970. He himself started training in karate as a teenager. Because his experience is with adults, he does not teach a kids karate classes - BUT, he will let mature kids join the adult classes and train with their parent(s) as long at they train side-by-side with their own parents. We restrict children to a minimum of 8 years old - but only if they can prove they are very focused and will not disrupt the class. Teenagers at the age of 15, can train in the adult classes with consent of their parents.
Your child has the opportunity to learn respect, self-confidence and self-defense from Hall-of-Fame Grandmaster, Soke Hausel, former professor of martial arts at the University of Wyoming for 30 years. Your children will learn traditions of Okinawa karate, some Japanese language and self-defense. Soke Hausel is considered one of the best instructors in the world - he has been awarded "Instructor of the Year", "International Instructor of the Year", and "Grandmaster Instructor of the Year" by different martial arts associations.
